Two weeks before moving

Inform gas, electric, water, cable, and local phone company of your move. Sign up for services at your new address.

Inform long distance phone company of your move. Sign up for service at your new address.

Confirm moving company reservation

To do after moving

Mail that has been forwarded from your old address will have a yellow address label on it. Notify the sender of your new address.

Register to vote. Call your local board of elections for registration information. Ask them to notify your previous voting district of your changes and address

Consult your insurance agent about cancellation of your home owner’s policy and proper coverage of your belongings at your new location.

You may also wish to make a detailed list of your belongings and their value.

Seek out new service providers such as banks, cleaners, ect..
